Embark on an unforgettable 10-day Botswana adventure, where breathtaking landscapes, rich wildlife, and diverse cultures await. This remarkable journey will take you through three African nations—Botswana, Namibia, and Zimbabwe—from the historic city of Windhoek to the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls. You will experience thrilling game drives, traditional mokoro rides, and nights spent under the African sky. Whether you are exploring ancient rock art, cruising along the Chobe River, or marveling at the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, this trip is a nature-lover’s paradise.

Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek, Namibia

Your adventure begins in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by an Intrepid representative and transferred to your hotel. If you arrive early, take time to explore the city’s unique blend of German colonial and African influences. Stroll past landmarks like the Tintenpalast (Ink Palace) and Christuskirche, or relax at a local café.

In the evening, a welcome meeting at 6 pm provides the opportunity to meet your local guide and fellow travelers. Afterward, you may choose to join your group for an optional welcome dinner at one of the city’s vibrant restaurants.

Day 2: Crossing into Botswana – Ghanzi and the Central Kalahari

Today, we journey into Botswana, heading toward Ghanzi, known as the “Capital of the Kalahari.” This scenic drive will take approximately 8 hours, so grab a window seat and take in the stunning views. Road trip games and conversations with fellow travelers will help pass the time.

Upon arrival, check into a comfortable lodge, where you can unwind by the pool or enjoy the Botswana sunshine.

Day 3: Exploring the Okavango Delta Panhandle

Prepare for an incredible experience as we travel toward the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO-listed site famed for its seasonal flooding and lush wildlife. Upon arrival, we board speedboats to reach our home for the next two nights—a floating houseboat.

Spend the afternoon relaxing on deck, soaking in the views, or engaging in board games with fellow travelers. As the sun sets, your captain will serve dinner on deck, providing a perfect setting to listen to the distant calls of hippos and birds.

Day 4: Mokoro Safari and Nature Walk

Later, embark on a guided nature walk across one of the delta’s islands, where you may spot zebras, antelopes, and exotic birds. Return to the houseboat for a relaxing evening under the stars.

Day 5: Journey to Maun – Gateway to the Delta

Leaving behind the peaceful waters of the delta, board speedboats back to the mainland and travel to Maun, the bustling hub of Botswana’s safari industry. For an additional thrill, consider an optional scenic helicopter flight over the delta, offering a bird’s-eye view of this vast wilderness.

If you prefer a more relaxed afternoon, unwind at the hotel’s pool or explore the town at your own pace.

Day 6: Makgadikgadi Pans and the Meerkats

Today’s journey takes us to the Makgadikgadi Pans, one of the largest salt flats in the world. This surreal landscape is a remnant of an ancient lake and offers a unique ecological experience.

Enjoy a close encounter with a meerkat community, observing their natural behaviors without disturbing them. Then, take part in a guided bush walk with the indigenous Kalahari Bushmen, who will share their knowledge of survival skills and symbiotic relationships with nature.

The evening features a special baobab tree dinner, where you’ll dine under these massive ancient trees and enjoy a three-course meal cooked over an open fire.

Day 7: The Elephant Highway to Chobe National Park

After checking into our riverside lodge, enjoy a tranquil evening listening to the sounds of the bush.

Day 8: Game Drives and Chobe River Safari

In the evening, enjoy a brewery tour and tasting with your group, celebrating the final night of this unforgettable adventure.
